
This experiential workshop utilizes human movement study of Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis (LBMA). We facilitate the meaning-making process through various activities including embodiment, learning LBMA theory through movement exploration, observation, creating phrases, writing, discussion, and collaboration.
This workshop focuses on 1) psychophysiological awareness by exploring the interconnectedness between inner intention and physiological expression, 2) discovering multiple identities and associated movement qualities, 3) developmental movements and various movement qualities, 4) our dysfunctional responses or patterns of movement and psychology, and 5) implications.
◦ Facilitator Biography:Mihyun Lee studied Korean Dance, Counseling Psychology, and Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis. For about 30 years of practicing dance professionally shaped her understanding of the primal nature of the body and its expression.
Under the theme of Polarity and Integration, she supports people to integrate various lived experiences through polarities such as past and future, implicit memory and explicit memory, felt sense and logical sense, etc.
As a Somatic Movement Therapist, she serves individuals, couples, and groups both in San Francisco and Seoul, South Korea. As a Mental Health Clinician, she serves 0-5 years old clients with their families at an organization in Alameda County.
