Suggested reading: The first two chapters, "Smart People/Cognitive Enhancement" and "Good People/Moral Enhancement", which I personally consider to be the two most important as well as politically and ethically contentious traits to enhance.
Optional reading 1: The other three chapters which focus on aesthetic enhancement, health enhancement, and far future "synthetic people".
Optional reading 2: In 2018, a blogger called Alexander Turok wrote the book POSTHUMANITY, in which he tries to envisage the transition to "posthumanity" - a genetically enhanced humanity that is much smarter and vastly longer-lived than ourselves - and how such a world might look like in practice. (Imagine Robin Hanson's Age of Em, but we just limit upgrades to the biological realm and never end up migrating to silicon substrates).

It's obviously pretty niche, but he has some interesting insights and predictions, and in the event that such a world does come into being, I suspect this work will gain vastly more prominence as the first (so far as I know) to look into this future world scenario at a highly granular level of detail. Would be happy to discuss this too at the end.
